Intrepidus: Latin; lack of fear in dealing with something new or unknown.

This word has been  unknowingly a theme to strive for on the world race but even more so as of today. These last four months, I have dealt with a lot of new people, places of things and just about as many unknowns. It was something I knew would be “a thing” coming into the race so I had been relying on the one tangible thing that remained constant this far: my team.
This morning, that all changed. Our squad went through team changes. The team that has been a true community in the way we love one another, call each other out and up on things, being able to be vulnerable and trusting that they, being a practical example of how Christ wants us to love one another day in and day out on the good days and bad. I have grown so much with this team. They truly are my brothers and sisters. It’s funny, we throw around the terms “brothers and sisters in Christ” but do we really mean it? I never did; I never really truly grasped that feeling. To have people that you grow up in Christ with, that you expand your capacity to love with, that you may argue with or annoy but will hash it out with intentionally because that’s what you do with brothers and sisters. That what my Fearless Love brothers and sister became after four months together. Now going into month five, leaving Asia, and transitioning to African climate and cultures, we will do so with a new team. It has made me really take to heart something one of my squad leaders said, “God is the only true constant”. With Him as my constant I can do anything. I can go on an 11 month adventure around the world. I can transition to Africa from Asia. I can miss my former teammates and learn to trust the new ones. I can, I am, I will.

This blog may seem a bit incomplete but so is this transition/my thoughts.
