I know some people have had questions about the specifics of supporting me financially. Here are some details about donating options. Hopefully this answers all of your financial questions! If not, always feel free to ask me
What is the World Race?
The World Race is a program of Adventures in Missions, a non-profit missions organization based in Gainesville, GA. Adventures is governed by a Board of Directors that meets to review the organization and its ministry. In addition, Adventures is a long-time member in good standing with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.
How can I donate to a World Racer’s account?
Donations may be made by check, money order, credit card, bank transfer, or EFT (Dynapay).
Check/Money Order
Must be made payable to Adventures in Missions with the participant’s name in the memo line.
Mail to: Adventures in Missions, PO Box 742570, Atlanta, GA30374-2570.
Please mail only one check per envelope, as checks are processed mechanically.
*Checks being sent through mail take 2 weeks to be processed.
Credit Card/Bank Transfer
Click on the “Support Me” link on the left-hand side of the participant’s blog site, and you will be directed through the process of making a one-time, monthly, or quarterly gift by credit card or bank transfer. All donations made this way will be charged a transaction fee of 2-3%.
*Online donations take 2-5 days to be processed.
EFT (Dynapay)
Go to adventures.org/dynapay to fill out an online form for a monthly Electronic Funds Transfer from a checking account. No transaction fee will be charged for donations made through EFT. We do not accept any cash donations.
*Online donations take 2-5 days to be processed.
Can I give monthly? How?
Yes, you can give monthly by mailing your check or money order. When we receive your gift through postal mail each month, we’ll mail an acknowledgement that will include a reminder for your next gift and a pre-addressed envelope.
You can also set up an automatic recurring donation using a debit/credit card or eCheck. Monthly electronic funds transfer (EFT) from your bank account is another option.
*Since I need to be fully funded by the 1st of January 2015, if you decide to donate monthly, please specify an end date of December 31, 2014.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. Upon the close of each calendar year, Adventures sends donors an annual giving statement confirming tax deductibility in the U.S. Deductibility varies for other countries outside the U.S. and therefore it is the responsibility of any international donor to consult with their tax advisor as to the deductibility of their donation. Adventures is not incorporated in any country other than the U.S. Checks made out directly to the participant or non-financial gifts to the participant are not tax-deductible.
Is my donation refundable or transferrable?
As a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, the IRS regulations require that all tax-deductible contributions must be irrevocable and that any such organization must demonstrate full discretion and control of the donations. Donations can not be refunded or transferred after they are made.
