“My name is ‘George’ for a reason…”
Over the last year I’ve been pressing in to the Word of God and His will for my life intimately. Without true clarity on what’s next I continue to press in and embrace the life that He has captivated me. I can tell you it’s not always easy to remember this is not only what I signed up for, but it’s who He called me to be to the lost – Christ!
I now embrace a life that says I don’t know what your going to do in my life or how your going to do it, but I trust that whatever happens it because you allowed it to happen. A life of uncertain certainties compels me to trust in the One certain thing that remains – Him. His love for me confirms that whatever He allows is for me. Not because of anything I’ve done, but rather that is the life of His beloved.
The best adventure story I’ve ever experienced…
George, such an interesting name. [For those of you who don’t know my full name is George Washington III , but I go by Tres to keep the humor down.] A quick internet search tells me its meaning is “farmer”. Saint George, a knight who became the patron saint of England, achieved legendary status through the medieval story of his struggle with a fire-breathing dragon, symbolic of the devil. George was a royal name in England, and in America, George Washington became the first president.
“My name is George for a reason…”
One things sticks out to me about all of the mentioned characters and their lives is the sacrifice that is consistent in the life of a farmer and a fighter. Faith! From the farmer to the president they all worked hard for what they believed in, conquered fear and understood the importance of something bigger than what you may see. But it’s faith that makes this life a life worth living.
Along with seasons of life come the opportunity to plant seeds in one season so that we may reap what’s planted in another season of life.
Fortunately for me, not only do I have a passion for working hard, but I also understand the love of the Father exempts me from ever claiming I am broke, I can’t or I’m not enough. The simple (and awesome) fact that He loves me, brings me to a place or revolutionary love that few know and even fewer believe.
It’s this approach to the life I live that has given me comfort in knowing that this season of life, although may soon be coming to an end, opens my heart to the possibilities that He has in store for those who are wiling to faithfully plant seeds.
I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to understand not just who’s I am, but who I am. And this awareness compels me to continue planting seeds.
As I transition to another season of life, support is needed to make this happen. I pray that the farmer in me and the president in me are met by the wives, children and families of those who need to know that someone is praying for them, loving them, laying his life down for them for the sake of the Kingdom of God and loving them for who they are, but loving them even more for who they will become.
God’s grace has allowed the farmer within to rise up and share his life and His story with those who need to know His love.
Will you join me is sharing His love and planting seeds in the lives of others. And consider that it may not be just for a season that we come together and support those we know and don’t know, but rather a lifetime.
To know Christ cost nothing, following Christ costs everything…
Please contribute and support the kingdom within this faithful farmer, passionate president and fearless King…
