My time is not done here. God has much more to teach me and I have much more to give. About four months ago I began to have some important people in my life ask me about my plans after the race. After mulling around a few ideas in my head, I sat down with some of the leadership I have been surrounded with this year and we all agreed that squad leading looked to be the greatest opportunity.
What does that mean for me? I get to spend the next 11 months loving on J Squad! They just got done with training camp in Georgia without me. Thankfully I am leading with two other squad leaders, Austin Ulsh and Amanda McConnell. Our purpose is to invest in our squad mates and raise up leaders. My heart is all about this. My joy this year has been the deepening understanding of God’s will for my life.
My goals:
- Focus on discipleship and visioneering for the individuals of the squad I am leading
- Focus on my development of being a leader
- Strengthen my gifts of shepherding, encouragement, wisdom and prophetic words
- Work on developing my writing and communication skills.
My needs:
- I need to raise $3,500 for the first five months of the race and if I choose to stay longer and return for debriefs I will need additional funds ($1,500 per debrief) with a total of $6,000). This is significantly lower than the $16,250 I raised for my first year on the World Race.
- I need a new computer. Specifically a MacBook Air. I need about $1,200 to purchase a basic MacBook Air. I need this for World Race logistics and finances, personal things (budgeting, writing, uploading videos and photos, communication) and for development of my future career and calling.
- I need also help on personal finances (college loan and phone bill payments)
My desire:
- In the coming year I want to continue to solidify my strengths, identify and work on my weaknesses and work towards establishing a foundation for starting my leadership career (blog, job, consulting, future education, Ect.).
