I don't know how many times this month I heard the words "this is not America, this is Nepal" come out of Samuel's mouth. Samuel is the pastor's son. We lived with him and his sweet family this month.

Samuel figured all of us girls our pretty fast. When a 1.5 hour car ride took four hours on a public bus, my teammate and I glanced back at Samuel. We had been standstill for one hour and without a word Samuel said, "Nepal. Nepal."

This is Nepal.

I learned there are quite a few differences between America and Nepal other than the lack of toilet paper use, no need for hand washing soap (water removes all bacteria is what we were told), and rice with curry for breakfast.

This month we hiked hours at a time up steep moutains to have church. We were all exhausted after two weeks of ministry and had to take many breaks.

But here I see these beautiful Nepalese people some at least 50 or 60 years old hiking two hours up a steep mountain to have church.

In America, we do what is most convenient for us because we have so many options. We find a church closest to our homes. Wet get picky about the worship music or the preaching style.

Well what if we only had one option?

And what if that one option involved getting all sweaty hiking for an hour or two up a mountain to someone's little home?

Would we be so desperate for community with other believers?

At the end of the month, I realized squatty potties aren't so bad. If you find a hair in your food or a fried bug then no big deal. And why even think about taking a shower more than once a week? Duh!

Nepal was one of my favorite months on the race. The Nepalese people are beautiful and so is the country. Many people are blinded right now who need the redemption of Jesus Christ. I don't know how many homes we went to where someone had a miraculous healing story through the power of Jesus, but unfortunately they still don't accept Him. One man's body had been paralyzed when he had an encounter with demons out in the jungle. Samuel's dad came to pray over him and he got fifty percent better. After a few days he was brought to the church for more prayer and Jesus completely healed him. But when we visited his family, he didn't want anything to do with Jesus.

It breaks my heart and i know it breaks the Father's heart. So please intercede for the country of Nepal. Pray for salvation and redemption of this land. Declare the victory of the blood of Jesus Christ over this country and these people. They are so precious to the Father.

I made a little video of my month, so check it out! It's got my crazy bungee experience!
