Man oh man! So this week we have been working with a pastor here that does a lot of community outreach! Monday we drove to an elderly home! Ohhhhh guys how my heart broke for these people! Their stories are so crazy, but then again its so normal here in Honduras. One that stuck out the most to me was this one old man they picked up off the street and he was all beat up! Oh how my heart was crying out to our Abba for none of them deserved to be in the mental and physical state they were in! It was such an amazing experience to just sit there and have some sort of conversation have with them! We are so blessed guys. For we all can speak one language. And that language is prayer! I am so honored we got to get in a circle and pray for all of them. Holding their hands… hugging them. My life will never be the same just cause of the fact I got to hug this old lady who has simply lost her mind. She has to be some where in her 70-80s and she thought she was 33!! But we got to sit down and share the Word with her…laugh with her… Oh how my life is changing!
After that we drove to a dump field…mountains and mountains of garbage…At the top of these mountains they would burn the garbage so the sky was field with smoke… you could barely see anything ahead of you. In these fields of garbage you have families working in them. Pulling things out for recycling and whatever else their job is there. They are covered in filth , but yet they work hard to support each other.. for that is their way of life. We met a family and in this family was a young boy… this young boy named Davey ( I think thats right) got hit in the face right by his eye… It had swollen up and got a huge infection. We gathered around him and prayed and got some stuff to clean his eye . Guys do you realize how blessed we are back home in the states? These people are COVERED with filth from working all day in this stuff… so many health problems can from this… and for Davey .. its just a reminder of how prone this kids are to fighting and how dangerous it is to just even go to school here! …. Going to this dump field was a HUGE gut check for me. God has a purpose for all of His children. It does not matter if you work in a dump field or if you work in a top office in New York City. You do all work as if your working for the Lord and you do it humbly! He does not love one person more than another. It does not matter what so ever what your work is! All that matter is how your heart is in the work you do! And its not that I did not know this before. It was just a huge honor to be in this families presence! We need more families like this in our world. The father knew this was the only way he could support his family, so he works hard daily and does it whole heartedly! AMEN! Praise God for this man and his family!
Then we went to a boys home! I do not know to much about this place and how everything goes. I do know their is four phases of this place. And on the fourth place they get to go back home. I think these boys come from a government place we visited that pulls kids off the streets to make the streets safer and I believe this home is the next step after the government place! This was what I was told but some things get broken in translation! There is something like 35 boys living in this home! It was so cool to watch them play some soccer and hear them introduce themselves! These boys are so cheerful ! I got to sit down with one boy named Marvis Davis! What a POWERFUL name! He started singing to me in spanish and it was Open the Eyes of My Heart Lord… and so I started singing with him! It was so beautiful! And we actually got the honor to see one young boy who was at the government place at this home! Its so wonderful seeing God change this boys lives right in front of our eyes! Satan has NO AUTHORITY over them! I do not care what they have done in their past.. or even what they still struggle with today! I am so pumped to see where they are headed! I truly believe they are apart of God's mighty army that He is rising up here in Honduras! They will be Godly leaders some day! AMEN!
We also went to the girls home as well! It was amazing to just sit around with them and hear them laugh and to share stories with one another! God really broke me when we were leaving though. For when we were going out the gate three young girls ran away! I was literally crying to myself in the van for I did not know what would happen to these girls and I could only ask the Holy Spirit to protect them in those dark alleys! And also God was really showing me what their life is like… how broken these boys and girls are… how trapped they feel… how alone they feel… but PRAISE GOD all three of them where found! Although, the following day on Tuesday they had to appear before the judge and tell the judge what they did so I have no clue what is in store for them! God is really working in my heart! Really breaking me for what breaks Him… really showing me how much different life is growing up here is. I will never be the same…. life is such a gift from Him guys…. Yesterday (Tuesday) we went back to the girls home and had worship…did a drama…Natasha shared her story… Pat spoke from the Word.. it was so a blessing to do this with them! Afterwards we prayed over them then just kicked back and had some good laughs with them! I love that this is my life!!!
Keep praying with me for all of the places I just talked about! God is doing great things in these ministries! Love you guys!!!
