Why Go?
“Then (Jesus) said to them all: If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” Luke 9:23
Would you follow the call if God asked you to leave everything and everyone you love behind to follow him to the ends of the earth doing his work?
Would you be willing to pack up your backpack and tent to spend 11 months in third world countries serving wherever God calls you? I believe God has called me to do this “for such a time as this.” (Esther 4:12)A few years ago, I would have told you that I did not want to move away from my hometown of Seattle. I would not have wanted to live abroad for more than a month. However, God has slowly been changing my heart to want to live in other countries.
For the past year or two, I have been contemplating and researching either working in or doing missions in different countries a month at a time. So when I heard the World Race does this exact thing, it was an answer to prayer. I truly feel at peace that this is where God wants me to be for his will for my life. I look forward to seeing God move in the next year!
Why go? Because God has called me!
