After our last long travel days (50+ hours instead of 40), we arrived at our guest house in Morogono.  Mary and I were paired up to share a room.  We moved all of our stuff in there.  As I was rearranging my stuff, I moved my big backpack.  As I did so, I saw something move out of the corner of my eye.  Then I moved the bag again to see what it was.  It was the intruder!

A little bird flew up at me and then flew to the corner of the room.  Since I wanted the bird to be free and also did not want bird poop around the room, I proceeded to try to move the bird outside.  I tried shooing it but that did not work.

The bird decided it was tired of flying so he went under the bed.  So now I am trying to get it out from under there with a shoe.  I am sure that if it had been on video, it would have been pretty funny.  The bird moved out from under the bed and flew near the window.  The only problem was that the window was shut.  So I try to open the window but that scares the bird so he flies onto the bed canopy.  I try to open the door so the bird can fly out.  Since I had to go near the bird to do it, it was scared and flew back to the closed window.

As I near the closed window, this time I am able to shoo the bird out the door.  This whole process probably took about five minutes.

I have two morals of this story.  The first is be careful where you place your bags (I could have easily killed the bird with my heavy backpack).  The second is to keep your screens or windows closed or you may have intruders!
