What is Starbucks Ministry? It is being used by God wherever you are (including Starbucks). We had gone to Starbucks to celebrate Team Refresh’s leader Mac’s 2 year sobriety (see his blog on his sobriety http://macmitchell.theworldrace.org/?filename=rescued-from-death-or-two-years-of-sobriety).
Mary (my Team W.O.W. leader) was standing in line to order her coffee. A 13 year old Filipino girl Cassandra asked her if she knew the Valley Golf neighborhood. Mary explained that was where we were staying this month. They continued talking for the next 5-10 minutes. Since Mary and I are working with the teenage girl “Josie’s Angels” ministry, Mary invited her to come to the Bible Study on Tuesday. Mary gave her information to Cassandra. Cassandra said goodbye and left. We did not think that we would ever see her again. But God had other plans!!
On Tuesday night, a Team W.O.W. member was leaving the TayTay Mall (which is where the Starbucks is located). As she was about to leave, a teenage girl asks her if she knows Mary Magoni. It was Cassandra. They rode a Jeepney and a Trike back to our ministry site. Mary had a Bible Study with her then she went home.
On Saturday, Mary, Cara, and I went to the mall to Starbucks. While we were there, Cassandra and her neighbor came. We ended up having an impromptu Bible Study with them. We were able to tell them more about the Bible and explain how it applies to them. Cara and Mary were able to meet with them a separate time as well but I was not able to join them. All of this started because of a conversation in Starbucks. God could want you to participate in a “Starbucks Ministry” opportunities soon.
