Last month (January), the women on Team W.O.W. (my team) and Team Refresh had slept on the balcony of the ministry site.  Since there were not walls to surround us, we had to be mindful of the weather since our beds and stuff could become soaked. We also heard all the sounds that normal walls would block out.  Some of the sounds that we heard nightly are basketball playing, roosters crowing from early morning on, motorcycles without exhaust pipes driving by, and music playing.  These had become the sounds of the Philippines to me.
We have learned to be thankful for the small things.  We had a roof over our heads and a floor below us.   We also had been blessed to have mattresses to use. We can sleep comfortably with a gentle breeze.  Although we had rooms available for a few days, three of us W.O.W. women (Addie, Cara, and myself) had not moved inside yet because we had enjoyed the balcony so much.
