On our last weekend in Malaysia, we had a whirlwind of a time.  On Friday morning, we went to a school where some Burmese (the US still considers them Myanmar) refugee students were visiting.  They were from another school that was just starting up for them.  The refugees are not recognized by the government of Malaysia even though the United Nations recognizes them as refugees.  They were accepted by the children at the school we attended.

On Friday night, we were also able to help construct the party favors for a wedding reception the next day.  We were invited to a wedding reception of one of the hospital workers.  The wedding had happened the weekend prior so we did not see that ceremony.

On Saturday, we were able to enjoy a typical Malaysian reception with close to a thousand people who came and went.  Although it was pouring rain, the rain did not put a damper on the wedding reception festivities.  The tents that were constructed were mostly able to withstand the water.  There were a couple of spots where the water would come pouring down in parts where the tarps were not connected.
