My School of Eagles Roommate Rachel, our Director/Teacher Ted, and Myself
Please read my blog "What's Next?" at http://tracyhorne.theworldrace.org/?filename=whats-next for some background information before reading this blog. It describes how God revealed His next step for me.
I felt called by God to go to the School of Eagles starting in February 2012. School of Eagles is a Christian ministry school in Bellingham, WA taught by Director/Pastor Ted Hanson. It is rather humorous that I had to go to Georgia to find out about a school in my own home state of Washington.
School of Eagles totally changed my relationship with God. I had viewed God as a disciplinarian. I would try not to make Him upset. Growing up, I tried to be the “perfect Christian” (never realizing that only Jesus could be perfect). Essentially, I started to wear a mask- playing the part that I thought was needed. I became an empty version of myself, not knowing who I truly was anymore. I also placed a lot of rules or “inner vows” on myself to try to protect myself. They became a prison for me. I kept people at a distance by not opening up or sharing.
School of Eagles was a time of healing and transformation for me. It identified my deep seeded issues, many of which I did not know I had. Ted says "What God reveals, He is ready to heal." At School of Eagles, God showed me many areas I needed to deal with and was able to start the process. School of Eagles showed me that God is a loving Father and that Jesus Christ “came that [I] may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10 NASB).
