When flying from Malaysia to Cambodia, I was able to have an “awesome” experience. “Awesome” is defined by WordWeb as “an overwhelming feeling of wonder or admiration; a feeling of profound respect for someone or something.”

As we were flying at 30,000 feet, I was able to have a one-on-one experience with Jesus. We had a blanket of clouds above and one below us. The side of the airplane that I sat on was also where the sun was setting. The two other World Racers in my row were both sleeping. I was able to have a time of praise, worship, and prayer devoted to Jesus. I thanked God for the many blessings that I had already received including family, relatives, and friends. I also am thankful for all the World Race gifts (whether the Race itself, supporters, contacts, people we met, places we went, teammates, and squadmates).

As we flew, I felt surrounded with peace as we floated between the clouds. I experienced such an extreme comfort. I felt like God was surrounding me with a blanket of peace. As we continued to fly, the sun set which made the sky even more beautiful with an array of colors. I felt like I was in a painting that God designed especially for me. God was showing me that I am a treasure to Him.

I wish I had a picture that could adequately represent what I felt and saw but I do not. The picture I took only shows a portion of what I saw.

We are only able to see a portion of what is happening in our own lives. We can not see the entire picture like God can. Please know that God wants the best for you!

Jeremiah 29:11-14 (in the Message version) shows this:  “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out- plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed…”
