It took nine months before I preached my first Sunday sermon.  It unfortunately also was the most uncomfortable that I ever could have been.  Why you may ask?  Pastor Sarah told us on the night before preaching that it was a Thanksgiving Sunday.  This meant that we had to wear the traditional Ugandan dresses.  These dresses have pointed shoulders and are very warm.  I think most of you know how much I dislike skirts and dresses.

On Sunday morning, Pastor Sarah helped us get our dresses on.  As we arrived at church, we were surprised to see that we were the only people wearing the traditional Ugandan dresses.  Everyone was staring at us.  Although staring at us has become pretty normal, we knew it was because of the dresses.  As you can see from the picture at the bottom of the page, we did kind of stand out.

The sermon was on the Prodigal Son story in Luke 15.  The Holy Spirit was definately in that church and spoke to many hearts through the message.  They had an altar call afterward which many people came forward to dedicate or rededicate their lives to Jesus.
