In the first part of this month, we were not given much ministry because our contacts were out of town or working on other projects. We were able to do some ministry with Team Frontline (Mac’s Team).
We mostly spent our free time becoming even closer as a team. We have been focusing on what it will be like to go home (through our Re-Entry packet). We have also spent a lot of time in prayer or talking about hopes and dreams and fears.
We also contributed in a few other ministries. We spent time with some of the DTS students here. We attended a “Life Challenge” meeting for drug and/or alcohol rehabilitation for adults. We went to a school and entertained the children. We went to a local Christian University and met some students.
In the second half of our time here in Bangalore, we were able to enjoy a lot of different ministries. We were able to go to the slums a few times to encourage the church attenders. We met a sixty-year-old man named Rajendra who stole our hearts. Although he has health problems, he had the joy of the Lord in him. We could see pure joy on his face. He is a light to his family and his community.

We were able to see a group of widows a few nights ago which was also very special for all of us. They ranged in age from around age twenty to around age eighty. This is a group of women who tend to be overlooked in this society. Since they do not have their husbands, they do not have a regular income coming in to buy food. The pastor that we met provides food (usually rice) for the widows once a month. The ministry that he leads is called: “God’s Love Mission & Trust.” They also provide care for orphans or those who are poor and needy. If you would like more information, please e-mail me or post a comment below. They would love prayer or financial support if you are interested.
