We are staying in Guest House T.T in the center of Ho Chi Minh City. We have a contact Timmy who booked our reservation and made a schedule for us for the first few days of our time in Vietnam. He was wonderfully helpful. During our time in Ho Chi Minh we are able to find accommodations and plans to make our way up north. Our goal was to do the ministry provided but also go out into the community prayerfully and make our own ministry.
Ho Chi Minh was one of the best ministry times for me. Here are some highlights…
* praying over the bus to Vietnam out loud and having people laugh at me.
the sweetest embrace yet from the most beautiful orphan boy. We walk up to* the orphanage and he sweetly opens his arms up for a hug and wraps his arms and legs around me as I lift him off the ground. We hug for a solid two minutes

Getting attacked by bats while crawling throu
gh the Cu Chi Tunnels and* screaming my fool head off with Ashley and Andrea!*
walking up to Gioang in the park and sharing Jesus (recently found out through emailing that he loves Jesus already and was glad to talk about Him)buying an icecream cone! Chocolate!
*giving the ice cream cone to a cute little boy in the park
helping sweep streets and buying water for the workers*
*kickball with kids with Salley’s fun plastic ball
a bed or treatment*
meeting Angela and praying for her*
*my team praying for me as I felt the spirit of apathy hovering over me
our junk in front of each other and worked through it
*my sandal breaking and having to walk around barefoot through Ho Chi Minh Cityfor over a mile.
Seriously- a sad day this happened. My sister bought these for me over five years ago. My sandals have been wearing away; but I was hoping they would last the entire race. The thong was broken, and I had about a centimeter until my feet were going to be on pavement. They were thrown away once in Thailand because someone thought they were garbage… they looked like garbage…I loved these sandals… they broke while walking through the park and I had to go barefoot until I could get to the market to buy new shoes. It was fun being one with the earth in Vietnam though.
riding a motorbike with Tam through the city! Crazy! *
*having eggs on our table during dinner with Timmy and friends, and having live baby ducks inside. Boiled them in a pot and I ATE SOME! We also ate rubbery goat, 3cm of fat on pork bites, and bricks (BRICKS) of tofu. It was a great night.
feeling like God was preparing our team for the next step…*
*Psalm 1: 3-That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither-whatever they do prospers.
