Debrief with the squad was great, a perfect time to catch up with the family, worship the L*rd and try and figure out what the next step is after the race… a scary thought. We also had a chance to visit the Ankor wat temples, which were sweet. The best part was when we were traveling from temple to temple
,                          we stopped to look at monkeys and they jumped all over us!!! Wild Cambodian monkeys! They played with our hair, rubbed our backs, jumped from one of us to another, and climbed all over us. It was unforgettable.

I have amazing people on the race that encourage me, and debrief was a fulfilling time for me, sadly, this was the second to last time this will happen on the race.

I’m still processing everything that was said at debrief and I’m still not sure what is next for my life, I’m not sure anyone ever is. I’m writing this after the fact, and it may not be posted for awhile, but we are officially out of the triple digits until we arrive home which is May 12th. Another scary thought.

I’m working on not thinking about what is next, I’m really trying to focus on the ‘now’ and I feel like I’ve been able to do that well so far. So here’s the ‘now.’ We’re off to Vietnam, we have a contact for the first five days then we have no specific plan. So ready or not…

We leave Siam Reap and head toward Ho Chi Minh City, roughly a twelve hour bus ride. We leave at 7:30PM. We started off on a regular bus where Jonathon and I listened to a random podcast he downloaded about common Vietnamese phrases. We learned how to say, “stop thief!” and “don’t shoot, those drugs are not mine!” That’s not all, but those stick out to me. We did not have much food and ended up eating raw spaghetti noodles for dinner, yum.

We change buses once and stop a few times until arriving in Ho Chi Minh City! We immediately head to get food! We stop at this sweet Vietnamese place with the sweetest old lady outside, fell in love with her.

Order some delicious noodles and then we head toward our guest house. We walk around the block with our packs, find our place; walk up the spiral steps and crash.

The city is FULL of tourists Americanized foods, stores and shops. We have a sweet agenda for the next five days, and have a contact so willing to help us named Timmy. Our schedule looks sweet for the next few days. More to come on how our first few days of Vietnam were.
