My name is Tracy Lynn Hagar; I live in Saginaw, MI and I’m 24 years old. I was born and raised here and the majority of my family is very close by. I graduated with a bachelors in Social Work. Currently, I work at Lutheran Child and Family Service of Michigan. We are a non profit organization that works with abuse and neglect children. I am a foster care worker and, although the job is emotionally difficult, I love the kids I work with and I love being part of their lives. Often times these children do not have any hope for the future, they have lived in terrible conditions and do not have ANYone who looks out for them, often times the workers are the only people who are consistently in their lives showing them support and love and even we leave them to pursue other opportunities. L

I also am a kickboxing instructor and teach classes at nighttime after work. I have a wonderful life here, the Lord has blessed me in countless ways that I constantly thank Him for. I have the most amazing, supportive, giving, compassionate, and loving family. I’m blessed to have my mom, dad, an older sister who is also my best friend a nephew that I will miss dearly, a great brother in law, my gramps, we lost our grandma recently and I know she will be with me through this also, aunts and uncles close by, great cousins all who have come from a Christian background and have helped me grow into the person I am today.  I’m comfortable here, I love the routine and I love my life here.

My fave food is strawberries and chocolate.. not together though.

My fave movies are: PS I Love You, Monsters INC, Little Miss Sunshine.. any feel good movie.. no scary movies!

My fave music is Ryan Adams, Jack Johnson, Mae, David Gray, Paolo Nutini, John Mayer, Sigur Ros, Iron and Wine, Owl City.. and so much more.

I would love to live in New York, but my favorite place I’ve traveled to is India.. so full of rich culture and I met amazing people there.

I love going to church and getting involved in the community. I have done mission trips in the past, but they were short term. I have participated in the hurricane repairs in Florida and Mississippi, traveled to Mexico and India to help preach the Word about God and show how he has blessed my life and try to pass that onto other people. I gained so much by immersing myself in other cultures, learning about their heritage, religion, lives and in turn sharing my culture with them.

So.. for someone who is so happy and so comfortable and for someone who always makes rational decisions.. embarking on a mission trip for 11 months long leaving behind my wonderful family, financial responsibilities, and a great job.. is very out of the ordinary for me but it’s the first time.. in a long time I feel I’m listening to what God is telling me to do. It’s easy to fall into a routine and forget to listen to the work that God wants you to do. If we allow Him to work in us.. we can do wonderful things. I hope with prayers and support the June 2010 World Race team can do those wonderful things and give hope to the hopeless.
