We made it to Ireland! Team Jubilee arrived at the Dublin airport at around 10:30pm on August 3rd and we anxiously awaited the other teams coming from Romania. They were scheduled to get into Ireland after 1 so we booked a bus to Greystones for 2. We are working with the Cheetahs this month which is awesome. We are placed in Greystones, about 30 miles south of Dublin. The bus dropped of us in the rain at about 3:00am and our contact came to pick us up. We went in shifts and smushed into Kathy (our contact)’s minivan and headed off to our home for the next month, it was only about 2 minutes away.
Our team arrived and we unpacked, the first shift of riders was asked if three people could sleep in the camper outside- so Carin, Jenny and I volunteered- it’s the clubhouse and its actually been a huge blessing to be able to have our own little home!
The next morning at around 8, Carin, Kathy and I decided to go swimming in the sea! We took a gorgeous walk to the Irish Sea, located about ¼ of a mile away from where we are living. It’s gorgeous. I see God so clearly through His creation, it takes my breath away… and so did the FREEZING COLD sea! I knew I would not be able to gradually go in, so Carin and I jumped off of the steps to fully submerge ourselves in the sea. It was crazy cold, amazing. I feel so connected to God in the water- it has so much strength, it gives us life, we cannot live without it! Jesus is our source of Living Water and He extends Himself to all that are thirsty for Him!
It is absolutely gorgeous scenery everywhere you look here. I LOVE IT!
A brief look into how ministry has been this month:
Helping out a long term missionary family based here in Ireland, they are foster parents as well; they needed a lot of cleaning and organizing done. Cleaning out rooms, painting walls, stripping wallpaper, and moving mattresses. The ‘lads’ are working on a room to hold future missionary teams. We ‘lassies’ are not allowed to do that type of work. We’ve been doing street evangelism in Dublin and Bray, along with working in a drug rehabilitation center. Details to come!
I LOVE JESUS! Ireland rocks
Psalm 18: 1-3: I love you, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.
John 7: 37-38: On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, asthe Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”
