I failed to mention in my last blog that we were leaving for Guatemala after we returned from Kuna Yala. Our teams are very different for the next few weeks–the guys (minus a
Brandon, plus a John–a YWAMer we met in Costa Rica) are heading to
Guatemala to do “MANistry”. I am en route to Guatemala as well (a different area, though) with Krystle, Kari, Sarah B, Lindsey, Colleen, and Jackie. Team 7:11 is staying together* with the addition of Megan in Nicaragua. The rest of the girls are split in two groups–one of which will be in Nicaragua for a bit, and then Guatemala, and the other will be in El Salvador.
So…Monday we left Kuna Yala and spent much of the day on the road. Tuesday night we left Panama City to begin our route to Guatemala. Because of bus schedules we’ve stayed overnight in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and El Salvador, with a jaunt through Honduras. As I write this, I am on the patio of our hostel in El Salvador on the fifth day of travel. I have been fighting sickness since we left PC on Tuesday. I have been more feverish than not, which doesn’t coincide well with being on the bus for nine plus hours each day and having to get up at 3:30am. When we finally reach Guatemala tomorrow, we will have been in six different countries in five days. This is when it’s overwhelming. Panama was the worst travel–I was suffering the highest fever then and we went through several drug inspections throughout the night–complete with drug-sniffing dogs. I’m doing a bit better now, but just exhausted and ready to be in ministry.
Several of you have as me about the status of the laptop situation. It sounds as if they do in fact have my missing laptop, but I am still awaiting info from the detective. My mother and I have been in contact with two different people, and hopefully this will all be settled soon. Thank you for your continued prayers on this. I love you guys, and just as you pray for me, I pray for you.
*Please be in prayer for Sarah Lapp–she went home to the States to be with her mother who is very sick.
