Here are a load of photos to give you a glimpse of our two weeks in Kuna Yala (part of the San Blas islands), Panama.

Leaving Panama City for Kuna Yala.

All thirteen of us (including the driver) rode in one pick-up truck. We drove through the mountains for hours. It was exhausting to hold on for dear life because it was up and down and really windy. At one point we even drove through a river.

We took boats everywhere.

Here are just a few of the people we worked with while we were there. Pastor Canto and his family are in the upper right-hand corner. Also, I got my legs wrapped while we were there–only about a third as high as they do, but it still looks pretty cool.

We met with some other pastors from different islands, did a Drime, gave messages and testimonies, and encouraged them in any way we could.

I didn’t play chef at this location–rather, they cooked all of our meals for us. Notice the coconut on my lap; a race favorite for me. The water was river water with some unusual brown stuff floating in it–hence the tan color. Mostly I just closed my eyes when I drank it. It tasted fine, just messed with your head a bit to watching the particles floating around in the water.

The “facilities” were right over the ocean. No swimming here. Bucket baths (with the river water), and whatever deposits you left went right in with the fishes.

On our last full day we took a bunch of the kids to another island with a great beach. We had a lot of fun splashing around in the water with them–as you can see, Seth was almost in over his head.

Here we are chipping paint. It took forever to make any sort of progress, and it gave me blisters. But that is how they felt we could minister to them, so we did it. It did provide for some great conversational time for the five of us.

We got to sleep in hammocks while we were there. Every World Racer needs to do this in at least one location.

It was a bitter-sweet goodbye for us, but the sunrise was amazing.
