Have you ever questioned God’s existence? I have. Even on the Race, I have had moments of doubt. But it’s also on the Race where I had a realization that changed my thinking and how I live my life: The testimony of that proves God’s existence is life. The testimony that proves that Jesus was raised from the dead is how we live our lives. Life is incredible. The mere balance of life is so mind-glowingly delicate. Everything exists so intricately that when you think about every other theory about how life began, the only thing that makes sense is that it was created-that life was breathed out by God. Therefore, life proves that God exists.

Being a Christian means that you believe that Jesus was raised from the dead. You prove that as true by how you live your life. In my situation, I skipped out on college and ditched scholarships. I bought a backpack and I raised thousands of dollars. Then I got on an airplane with fifty other 19 year olds who did the same crazy thing. By the world’s standards, I am crazy stupid. “Why would I throw away my future?” “Why wouldn’t I just wait until I finished college?” Because of Jesus. I am staking my life on the fact that Jesus was raised from the dead. I am putting the entire foundation of my life on it. People think I’m crazy and that it was a stupid thing to do. But what if I’m right? What if Jesus actually did die on the cross and raise to life three days later? That changes everything! If he really did die on the cross and raise to life, then suddenly our lives must have a meaning deeper than getting a good degree to have a stable job.

Going to college isn’t a bad thing. A lot of my friends will go to school when they finish the World Race. For me, I’m going to do something crazier than buying a backpack and getting on a plane with 50 strangers. If God is proven by life, and the resurrection is proven through how we live our lives, then I want to live in a way that radiantly shows Jesus to as many people as I can. So in August, I am taking my backpack and a duffel bag full of Twinkies and I am moving to the other side of the world.
