On June 4th, 2018 I helped a random girl at the airport get her airporter (a bag to protect a backpacking pack while traveling) back into its bag. Little did I know that girl would change my life in less than a year.

Nicole Amy Murray has become one of my dearest friends on this wild journey. We have laughed together, cried together, watched movies together, danced together, jammed together, and of course watched the Patriots win the Super Bowl together.

When I was around Nicole for 10 days at training camp she was still new to following Jesus. She didn’t grow up going to church like I did, but boy she had something so much better. A new perspective to what living like Jesus really is.

Nicole this year has learned about the same bible stories that I have known all my life, thanks to veggie tales and Sunday school. Yes, I know the same stories that she is just hearing but I am honestly jealous. Nicole gets to grasp just how powerful the bible stories that I have heard my whole life actually are. Which is really cool, and she has honestly taught me so much because of that.

Nicole has also grown so much its insane. She is now someone who I seek counsel from. She speaks truth into me every time I talk to her and she loves me so well. She shows me how to soak up every moment of this year, good and hard. She has shown me what it looks like to lay down my own desires to run after Jesus with my whole heart. She inspires me daily.

She is my mom while I am away from my mom. She takes care of me in many ways and boy am I thankful for her.

So, thank you momma Nicole for taking care of me and letting me be your baby joey this year. I love you deeply.
