Wow month one is in the books.
I feel so blessed that I had the privilege of working along side not only the best team but the best host.
My team has grown so close this month and I will cherish the memories I’ve made with them for the rest of my life. They have taught me so much about what it looks like to have community that’s open and honest with each other. They have shown me what it means to have strong relationships with women and to have brothers who want to serve us women well. I am so grateful for them.
Even though I met Marcos and his family three and a half short weeks ago, I have grown to love them so much. We came here to serve them but yet they served us daily. Valentina, Marcos’ daughter, loved me so so well while I was here. She made it easy to feel at home and did her best to understand what I was saying all the time even though she only knows a little bit of English. I also enjoyed getting to know his son Tito too, he is such a good kid and has a great heart. I am so thankful for technology that allows us to keep in touch from miles and miles away.
I am also thankful for the families who invited us into their home and served us yummy food and gave us new friendships. I will also hold the memories we made with them very close to my heart.
Working with the kids at school opened my eyes to see that kids are broken. They are lost and they need guidance and it’s not just here in Chile it’s everywhere. I’m thankful I get to take part in teaching these kids what it means to follow Christ and live the life he wants us to live. They will all be in my prayers! And hopefully yours too!
There is so much more that I could say about this month but it’s so hard to form into words. It was a great first month and a great way to start off this journey.
