I’m writing this form San Francisco Airport, where I am with a bunch of teammates waiting for the new year to start. Tomorrow morning, we will start this new year by going to Thailand!
I said goodbye to my family, and was the awkward, weeping girl in the security line. I must have looked quite pathetic because I was allowed to go through pre-check. I even got a sympathy smile from a security guard. I love my family and friends and will miss them so much on this trip. But Oh! I am getting more excited by the minute for this adventure!
Before I left, I tried desperately to write down Bible verses to keep with me and to memorize for my journey. I was given an envelope of letters written to me by family and friends. I read them all on the first plane, and as well as making me emotional again (the tears just keep coming!) I was excited and grateful to find that every single letter given to me contained a treasure of Bible verses! I just want you all who wrote me letters to know firstly, how much it meant to me to read your words! And secondly, how much it means to have these Bible verses. I will use them well!
Even when I am fighting anxiety over the weight of my bags and concern over the unknown, I have joy and hope in the knowledge that Jesus has called me here, and excitement over what He has planned for me, my team, and the people we will minister to and do ministry with!
I thank you all for your support (continued support!) and prayer. I ask humbly that you will continue to bring my team and I before God. I want this adventure completely anointed by Holy Spirit and our guide always be the Savior!
Here’s to a new year!
God bless!
Tori
