Hello there again!

Today the concept of whimsy has been on my brain A WHOLE LOTTA LOT! Whimsy captivates me and, for me, is such a beautiful word to describe Jesus. You see whimsy is always ALIVE and Jesus breathes life, so His life is the most whimsical form of living we will ever come into contact with. His ways. His heart. His thoughts. His dreams. His visions.

Whimsy is defined as a beautiful playfulness.

How stunning of a way to see our God! As our Father who loves to simply spend time with His kids, having fun, playing, and taking their lives and creating a gorgeous masterpiece. We aren’t simply a canvas, we are totally His! We may start as a blank canvas, a piece of clay, glass, or any other metaphorical form of art before He gets ahold of us, wrecks our current state (and when I say wreck, that is a good thing), and molds us into pieces of heaven too wonderful for words. Thats whimsy. Its the component most fairytales strive to achieve but are never able to because they are simply that, fairytales. But Jesus, he takes prostitutes, drug addicts, self loathers, rejects, widows, and orphans and He breathes a new name, life, and hope into them (into all of us).

Thats whimsy. Thats Jesus.

See, sometimes we forget how whimsical that process is. How much beauty is behind the pain of change, the adventure of newness. We don’t always see the rivers in the wastelands and the sun behind the cloud. It so amazing how day by day we don’t always see God working, when in reality, He takes a hold the moments between the moments moments and opens the doors of our hearts.

Thats whimsy. Thats Jesus.

Do you ever wonder what God’s heart is feeling? How it beats? How whimsical He is?

Those questions are typewriting through my brain so often. I simply wish I could jump into the sky and walk on the clouds with Him, find the space between the raindrops and play hide and seek, and soak in flower beds like they were my resting place most afternoons. The beauty of all of those dreams rests in the reality that He is there to make all of those things possible. While we may not be able to physically walk on the clouds of the sky, Jesus does promise a life with Him after this earth fades. I do believe He will let us walk the clouds, hide between His raindrops and sleep with the Lillie’s of His heart. But for now, He lets us walk above the slavery of sin, this earth, and fear, which in essence is like the clouds. While raindrops may seem small, He is never hidden further away than the distance of a raindrop. And the flowers, He holds us closer than the pollen beneath a petal.

Thats whimsy. Thats Jesus.

I know this may all sound random, He knows my brain is, but its true. He is greater than anything we can envision, imagine, and know and form me, whimsy is the closeness I feel with Jesus. The supernatural encounters with His Spirit, the love that He breathes, and the hope that is tangible.

He speaks so beautifully if we are willing to listen to the whimsy He speaks and the places He will take us.

Jesus may you speak in heavenly ways to our hearts and lead us where grace paves the path!
