This month, my team and I were placed in the beautiful mountains of Nicaragua. Our ministry partner was an organization called Casa De Gozo, which in Spanish means “House of Joy”.
Little did my team and I know that this month God would be teaching us about what it means to choose joy in all circumstances. Through the ups and downs of this month, we learned what it meant to be joyful.
Joy is a beautiful trait of Jesus! A beautiful piece of who God is, a joyful Father; joyful because He is not shaken, nor should we be.
It was not an easy month and oftentimes the most beautiful lessons are learned towards the end of the teaching. So as this month comes to an end, I am sitting by the water and pondering. He is whispering with the waves.
This month was predestined in the book of my life, of the lives of my teammates. This month was here to show us that when you run out of water, are standing on the side of the road, and have no means for communication, that you can choose joy! Joy is not shaken by circumstances; joy shakes unfavorable circumstances and makes them heavenly.
“Always be joyful! Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
??1 Thessalonians? ?5:17-18? ?NLT??”
This is harder said than done, but God is a God of wanting the best and always teaching his children. This month He wanted me to grow in always being joyful and it’s been a beautiful lesson to see. It’s like uncovering a hidden gem: a gem named J O Y!
Hidden gems have a powerful impact! It is cool to see how God wants to make us unshakable! I should have known he was up to something for at the beginning of this month, that was one of my prayers…to be unshakable.
I love how we have a Father that is in the business of transformation and wants to answer prayers as quickly as we can pray them! I know He has called me a daughter of bright light and joy and I want to refine this all the days of my life!
Thank you Jesus for teaching me and always keeping me moldable 🙂
I want to live a life from Philippians 3, verses 7-11! It’s all inferior compared to Jesus! I want everything to do with Him- the easy lessons, the climbs; the meadows and the gems!
Thank you God for month 8, it was perfectly purposed 🙂
