Adventure. Exploration. Wanderlust.
The Father’s heart beats for adventure.
He wants to reveal Himself through everything possible as we allow Him to.
Elephants. Bamboo rafting. Waterfalls. Hikes. Haircuts.
As I was riding an elephant the other day, I was thinking how much fun God must have been having when He created these animals. They are gentle giants with such love and intelligence-they get to have pieces of the Father. They are caring, wise, protective. Through everything, as we ask for the eyes of Jesus, we get to see Him. He is infused in His creation. He is present.
It was scary trusting the elephant to carry your load, it was even bothersome at times because I was thinking about how much of a load three people must have been. It was a day of metaphors, as I saw Jesus in each adventure. I was smiling and my heart was pounding. I felt alive.
He made adventure to help us feel alive, as well get to see His majesty come to life.

After riding the elephants, our team ventured in a sung-tow down to the river and bamboo rafted. As we tried to balance and not sink, I was thinking about the beauty God created when He created laughter. We almost fell in the water so many times. Our team was doing the Wobble, turning backwards, surfing, and just enjoying the peace of the water. God was there. Joy was there. Laughter was really there. I wonder what it was like to create laughter? How it came about, the elements that make up laughter and the pieces of heaven woven into the sound of a laugh-all unique in nature.
We did get wet, go down small rapids, and have a blast. Its been a prayer of mine that God reveals Himself more to me-however He desires. So as I am writing this blog, I can see the beauty of the day we had. Adventure was literally around every corner but Jesus was the one orchestrating the adventure, knowing that our hearts would utterly adore all that He has made.
He made adventure to guide us to the parts of His heart that are interwoven to ours.

Once arriving safely to shore, we hiked our way to a waterfall nestled in the mountains. The rocks were steep, the water was freezing, and smiles were radiating everywhere as we walked around bamboo sticks to approach the waterfall. To swim or not to swim…that is the question!
Swim. Climb. Embrace. Daddy is here.
As I ease into the water, my breath is taken away. We grab a bamboo stick to help keep ourselves afloat and we try swimming against the current. We race. We get to be kids again, lost in the thrill of water and stunning beauty. Locals are assembling, visitors are watching, we are simply enjoying. After about 35 minutes of freezing my bootay off, we get out and dry off; I am still smiling. He knew the water had my heart and I got to share in a moment with my team, nature, and Himself.
Adventure reminds us that we are truly children of wander and excitement.

My life is full of adventure right now. I love adventure. I crave adventure. Adventure brings me closer to Daddy’s heart. It helps me be in tune with Him, His children, people, and life. And who knew, my new found gift of cutting hair could be an adventurous ministry within itself. So far I have cut four people’s hair while being in Thailand. I have gotten to hear stories, dreams, and see smiles-all while cutting hair. Its therapeutic and relaxing, its bonding and fun. Its all for Him.
Seeking after that heart of W O R S H I P in all I do.
God can truly use everything to help us see Him.
Adventure reminds us that He can use every experience and every person.
Life on the Race is so crazy but so awesome! Adventure is a heart beat that we get to sink with, love is the force we get to share, and Jesus is the presence we have. Its bonkers that its only been two weeks and God has broken chains, healed, revealed, drawn close, and adventured. He is the best.
Prayers:
Continued prayer for Jen; my obedient teammate who is praying for healing with her ears. You can visit her blog at jenniferboeve.theworldrace.org.
Prayer for YWAM squad member-she currently has malaria and pneumonia and recovering at a hospital in Bangkok.
Prayers for ministry this upcoming week- we are FULL force diving into ministry; monks, slums, Zion, and eventually bar ministry. Prayers for the armor to guard us, for Jesus to speak through us, and for hearts to be open. For our brains and spirits to be so amazed at all HE is doing. We want to be adventured by Jesus.
Prayers for continued unity-within teams, countries, the body of Christ, the squad, and hearts.
Much adventure,
-V
