As time for launch gets closer, my heart grows in excitement. I was driving to meet a friend for lunch and I was asking Jesus for the words to describe all that I am feeling. I haven’t been able to put in words the past few days the excitement that has been building, as well as the butterflies, the unknown, the joy, the fear, it all.
Child. Alive.
These were the words that came as soon as I stopped talking. Little did I realize that Jesus was beautifully answering a prayer that I have been praying for the race. I have been praying for more! For more. For more. He was giving me more. More joy. More excitement. More love. More of Him. In that moment I felt as if my heart was going to jump out of my chest! I felt truly alive. I feel truly alive.
He is reminding me that as we step outside of our comfort zone and jump feet first into His hands, life starts breathing. Listed below are 11 of the truths that Jesus has been speaking over me as I have been preparing for the Race and 11 truths I am praying to grow in over the course of the Race.
1. You were made to be fearless.
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. ( 2 Timothy 1:7)
2. You were made to adventure.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
3. You were made fully alive.
9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. (Colossians 2:9-10)
4. You were made to crave My presence, Spirit, and heart.
What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. (Philippians 3:8)
5. You were made to walk in humility.
7But emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name…(Philippians 2:7-8)
6. You were made to dance in My whimsy.
Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. (Psalm 149:3)
7. You were made beautiful.
You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you. (Song of Songs 4:7)
8. You were made to live in complete victory.
37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. (Romans 8:37)
9. You were made to love.
14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. (Colossians 3:14)
10. You were made to worship.
For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)
11. You were made to be a light.
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:14)
This next year I want to become more like you Jesus. Lord, mold me however you see fit.Help me to be an ambassador of love to the nations for the nations to look at your face with awe and wonder.
Thanks for allowing me to be Your child and live alive!
