Month 9, Romania! I knew I always wanted to go to Europe, do the touristy thing, see the sites, say that I’ve been there but I didn’t ever think it would happen SO soon. I had it in my head that it had to be this complicated thing. I was going to need a career job, something that will pay to get me there and have my life “together.” I wasn’t including the Lord in this equation or even consider that maybe He would just take me there. But not only did He take me to Europe, He took me the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa as well. It’s hard to believe my life, the Lord is so amazing and he makes all things possible.
So do people ever have their life together? When I was a child I perceived life as “once I’m an adult, married, have children, a successful career all of life’s mysteries will be known.” I will know everything I need to know about life. Come to find out people no matter what age rarely have anything figured out! We are all still young people at heart trying to figure this thing out called life.
Great news. We don’t have to figure anything out. Why? Because, God already has everything all figured out in his perfect plan that he designed specifically for each of us. We just have to trust in him. My life is not my own. He planned it, he gave me all that I have in life and I am just a beloved daughter on the receiving end.
This month God is so present and filling me with more hope than He has on the entire race. It is wonderful. We are living at a camp in what looks like a modern day castle with winding stairs, multiply stories, balconies, equipped with a few recreational items like ping pong, badminton, and a basketball court. We have been spending our days outside in the warm sun, mowing lawn, pulling weeds, planting flowers, trimming bushes, weed whacking, painting and preparing the camp for it’s busy season starting next month.
I am learning about bringing God into everything I do and think. This is something to be practiced daily. Some days are easier than others but nothing great comes easy. You have to work for it and retraining habit with habit takes time and practice. The Lord is gracious with me and with his help I am discovering there is far more to be thankful for and more success in daily life. God is the answer to everything. He’s the sweetest and greatest love I have ever known. I am seeing that more and more in not only my life but the lives of others.
