The trip to Haiti

Exciting

Another place to spread God’s love

A new country to add to the list

Last call on snacks

It’s practically like I’ve never been to a grocery store before

I want to grab everything off the shelf

What do I get?

Apples, cookies of course, and granola

I’m interested to see how it is after Africa where you literally eat the same thing everyday

I did previously buy an entire box of peanut butter Captain Crunch too

yes I made it fit

The bus ride was nauseating, a minute more and it might not have been pretty

Welcome home, we arrive in Port au Prince!

Port au Prince

It’s a different ball game from the Dominican Republic

Hurricane

Earthquake

Damage

Houses made of sheet metal line the road

They couldn’t get any closer

An occasional orange light glows

Hundreds and hundreds of people line the streets

Trash is everywhere; that’s a fact

Construction

Traffic Jams

People walking between cars and shoving goods in your window

Strong smell of exhaust, garbage and many other foreign scents fill the air

We turn onto our street

I’m anxious to see our living conditions

I pray for joy and peace whatever our living arrangements are going to look like

The bus barely fits

I could reach out and touch the houses going by

Road is dirt, rocks, boulders, crushed cement, random tires, debris; it all works

The bus stalls. The road is so uneven

We keep going

We come to a stop

We are there

I’m overflowed with Joy

The house is amazing

I should of known

God is in control

We get to live with another team

We have internet down the road

Our team gets to cook our own meals

A wrap around stair case leads us to our rooms

Beautiful tile line the floors

Is this really Haiti?

Its spacious

The bathroom as a flushing toilet

Running water all the time

We have a shower, WITH a shower head

A kitchen

 It’s a big one

Refrigerator

Stove

Dining room table

We have a balcony

I pitched my tent here

I get to look at the stars!

I sleep there every night

Oh, there’s a ladder to the roof

Was the first one up there

It’s the coolest trait about this house

It’s where I spend a lot of my time

And watch the sunrise almost every morning

The ocean is visible

You can watch boats and planes come and go out of the bay

Following Jesus is the best thing in the world

God provides. Living with 13 other people this month makes a wonderful family. More people to play games with, learn from, laugh with, worship with, eat and share memories with.

Thank you Jesus!

“…I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

– John 8:12

Prayer Requests:

God’s will, that it shall be done here.

My team and squad.

That he will provide for the rest of this trip. It’s all for his glory. It’s about trusting him that he will provide. This opportunity is changing me into the person he wants me to be more than I could have ever imagined and I am soo excited about it. Please pray and consider about being one of my supporters 🙂 Contact me on Facebook if you have any questions. Thanks everyone.
