2. Pastor Noel

Church – Sunday services;  filled with song and an opportunity for us world racers to speak. I like this church because they sing songs that I recognize. All in All, How Great Thou Art, and As the Deer. I shouldn’t be too surprised to hear the same songs because God is the same in America as he is here in Haiti, but those little pieces of home are good to pick out once in a while.

Orphanage – One word: Precious. There are a few kids I would really love to take home with me and would consider it if I wasn’t going to be gone another 9 months. One of the boys is named Christopher. He is 9 months old and was dropped off because his mother did not want him anymore. She said if Pastor Noel wasn’t going to take him she was going to kill him. He is the sweetest boy I’ve ever seen. One of the girls on my team, knows someone who is looking to adopt. The World Race coming to his church might be his ticket to a loving and safe home.

English –  Teaching 9 – 12 year olds the basic’s of English. Words they commonly use, greetings, numbers, colors, expressions, animals, months, days of the week are a few things we went over. They take notes and copy everything down. Our teacher thankfully knew a lot of english so when we wrote a english word down, he wrote the french or creole version next to it so the kids knew what we were teaching them. The kids loved it and we loved it too. We got to learn some of their language in the process.

Bible Study – Every monday night, Team Tharseo (our team) leads the study of Matthew chapters 5 & 6, which we felt lead to discuss. People are open to ask questions as we dissect verse by verse and study God’s word by bringing what the holy spirit has to say and verse parallel.

VBS – We only got to do Vacation Bible School at Pastor Noel’s once, but we played games with the kids, sang songs, told the story of Noah. They are all so sweet, I would like to adopt every single one of them.

That about sums up what we have been doing for the month!

Thank you for all your love, prayers, support. God is keeping me safe in his loving arms : )
