I think in our lives we often times forget who God is. We know He’s there, but we do not take time daily to just remember who He is.

Today I found rest under a shade tree down the road from our house and cried out to God for some intimate, honest, vulnerable time with him. Thank him, because that’s exactly what I got.

“Come near to him and he will come near to you…” James 4:8

He was close, our God is an awesome God! (Actually shouting this aloud because often, words about how awesome our God is do not get expressed by just reading them)

After some reading in the book of Psalms, He asked me to address an issue with him that has been on my heart and mind for a while now. I was filling my mind with positive thoughts and scripture about the situation to help direct my heart in the right direction, but not actually talking to the Lord about it. I know this sounds silly and obvious that the first thing I should do is talk to the Lord about it, but I had gone over it so many times in my head, that it kind of felt like I was talking it over with him. Come to find out I wasn’t because when I finally did, I cried. I was crying like a baby over the hurt and misconception of why I thought things had happened. But there was so much gladness in it because I saw it was God all along trying to get my attention, leading me down his narrow path directly to him and he didn’t give up on me!

When I had the right motive to speak to him directly, I saw clearly through his loving eyes what He was actually doing. He gave me blessings to help me through tough times when I wasn’t so sure of myself and now seeing that it was him all along again makes my heart so happy. I feel so loved by my Father that He did not stop pursuing me, his faithfulness and love was always there. “All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful.” Psalm 24:10

So what I mean that we forget who He is, it is that our God is strong. He is bigger than any of our problems, any of our sins, any of our mistakes, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him…” Romans 8:28.

His love is greater than any time spent on earth.

His love is greater than this world.

His love is greater than any person.

His love is greater than any gift.

His love is greater than any material possession.

His love is greater than the mountains that I face.

His love is greater than any human love.

His love is greater..

My prayer:

Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Psalm 24:4-5

If we can remember God’s unfailing love for us every single day and the hope we possess is with us 24/7, and our lifeline in trouble, we CAN conquer any of our trials and temptations because we serve a strong God who is bigger than anything we face.

“But since we belong to the day let us be self-controlled, putting on love and faith as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.” 1 Thessalonians 5:8

There is nothing like God’s love!!
