Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of Heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17

El Shaddai meaning “God” in the Hebrew bible is an orphanage in Swaziland Africa where 68 beautiful children and babies live among the premises on a breath taking mountain. It is known as the Switzerland of Africa and our team along with 2 other teams have had the amazing gift of living on top of this mountain with the most magnificent view in the entire world. El Shaddai is the hope to so many kids in a poverty stricken land where it’s teachers and care providers minister and demonstrate God’s love through faith. While serving at El Shaddai, God and our contact has provided many ways to minister this month and simply love on the children in fun interacting ways.

Ministry went throughout the day starting in the morning with scraping paint off the walls of the boys rooms to prepare for a fresh coat of paint that will liven up the room and make it look new again. We got the chance to work in the field, cutting grass and weeds manually to keep it from over growing the crops. The biggest project going on at El Shaddai is building the new baby house which we also got to partake in. We got to help construct the new establishment from the ground up with digging the foundation, plumbing, mixing and lying cement. The current housing is out of date and next to the farm animal enclosures, so our contact wanted to give the many young children a nicer home to find shelter and comfort.

It has been such a gift this month to love on the children; especially the older ones that are in middle school and high school. Having girls night and being able to just dance or watch a movie as been precious time spent. The girls here give the best hugs and just want to be close to you and feel loved. This month has really made me realize how important love is and how much a simple touch can mean the world. I believe this new found love that God has freely given me gives me understanding of how to love my family and friends at home with no fear but with God’s fearless and unconditional love.
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drive out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not make in perfect love”. 1 John 4:18
