• You’re never bored for attention.
  • Most people want to get their picture with you and if they don’t they most likely do deep down inside.
  • When walking down the street, 80% of people turn and stare at you.
  • In public, you hear “americano” at least 5 times.
  • Children randomly run up to you and hug you. I could get used to this.
  • Photobooth is the best invention a kid could ask for
  • They want your visa
  • Kissy faces are not uncommon

I can’t believe I have already been living The World Race life for a week. Here are a few fun discoveries, facts I have come across 🙂

Avocados are my absolute favorite.

Everywhere we go, “pist Amerincano” is starting to get uncomfortable

I’ve only used bug spray 3 times, I should probably start using it more.

Ice cold showers are the best kind of showers

Mango and Guava juice are God’s gift to humanity

I’ve had grilled cheese twice for breakfast and eggs for dinner.

The coffee here is very sweet.

Dominican Hotdogs are definitely not the same as American hotdogs. I would love a Koegel.

People can get quite creative with plantains. I’ve had grilled, fried (tastes like french fries, can eat with ketchup) and mashed style. Just like potatoes!

Sweating is the new way to burn calories

Chickens and dogs are EVERYwhere

Chin Chin is delicious; corn bread and cheese mashed together? yes please

Rice, beans or potatoes are for every meal. Hope you’re hungry

Bugs are everywhere.

Life is less distracting here, more time for God. It is the best.

The ladies in the church are the sweetest people in the world, it feels like home

Thankful for clean water every single day.

I miss and love everyone back home, I think about all of you everyday

Everyday God is slowly molding me into the person he has made me. I know I am so blessed to be on this mission to love every person I come in contact with that they might see Christ and when I really think about it I am overly joyed for a lifetime.

Thank you all for your love, support and prayers! I encourage you to keep praying, our entire team can feel God’s blessings 🙂 love you and miss you guys so much!!

Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid for the Lord your God goes with you where ever you go.
