So the process began. We continued to pray on our own and then together as a team. One by one the list of possible countries began to be whittled down until we were left with only Lesotho and Namibia. These two places could not be more different. One is frigid and mountainous, the other an arid sparsely populated desert! So we kept asking God to make it clear to us which one. Each time, only 2 people would see anything or get any leanings from God…one would get Lesotho, one Namibia. Over and over, this happened. Finally, my feeling from the Lord was that this decision was actually going to rest with our team leader instead of a consensus from the team. Immediately after saying this, another girl got a specific verse, Jeremiah 5:5…
“So I will go to the leaders and speak to them…”
So we were settled then…whatever our team leader Kim decided, we’d be supportive of. So we pray over her and she spends a morning praying about it. Lesotho it is. Awesome, we now know the
country!! The celebration is kind of short lived though because we next needed to determine the city we would serve in and if we would serve with a certain predetermined ministry. So again we asked God. “Lord give us a direction…North, South, East, West? Which way?” This time, we mostly got the same things, south and southwest. And an added bonus…one girl saw a literal sign with a word that she made out to say “Moore…” And there were letters after that she couldn’t see. So we pull out the map and all almost fall over in excitement and shock when we find a place, in the south/southwest called Mt Moorosi! There’s no other place in the whole country that is spelled even close to that. So there you go…that’s where we’ll go.
We still don’t know what our ministry will be, and as we continue to pray into this month, we keep feeling that the Lord is saying that this month is all about the journey. God will be speaking to us…but only giving us direction one step at a time! So that’s what we know. Lesotho…Mt. Moorosi. We have a place to stay when we get there…the Lord worked out a sweet deal for us to stay in some chalets for super cheap…although the transportation to get there is still a work
in progress. Apparently this country is so mountainous that you can’t even enter it without a 4 wheel drive vehicle! So we have a ride to the border at least…and we’re still praying about who will get us the rest of the way there. We hear that pony trekking is a favorite mode of transportation there…so who knows, maybe we’ll be taking ponies to Mt. Moorosi! I do know that there is no electricity at the Mt. Moorosi Chalets we will be staying at, so do not be surprised if this is the last blog or communication from me in a while. Pray that we all hear God’s voice clearly and obey Him as we listen. Pray also that we can stay warm…it’s possible we may be seeing snow!
