I
‘m sitting at the first airport on the first official day of my World Race adventure! A day I thought would never arrive…but here it is! Thank you so much to everyone who came out to the airport to say goodbye, many sporting my t-shirts – I can think of no better send off! I love you all and am so blessed by you. It is a strange feeling to walk through the security gates and wave a final goodbye to my family and some of my closest friends. The thought of not seeing you all for almost a year is still rather incomprehensible. I loved the hugging line that formed going into security! I can’t express how much it warmed my heart to look back from security and see you all praying together! You’re amazing…all of you!!
Many who came to see me off asked how I was feeling, and right now my top answer is…tired! Two hours of sleep makes processing feelings just a little challenging. Thank you again to Nikki, Mary, and Kathryn for staying up until the wee hours of the morning and helping me tie up all those pesky loose ends…like finishing packing the house and my backpack…minor little things like that! You guys are priceless. I’m happy to report to everyone that one of my biggest prayer requests has been answered -the house is rented, and the lease was quite literally signed in the 11th hour! It’s just like the Lord to bring it down to the wire…but my goodness how He’s faithful!
