Peanut butter. Laffy Taffy. Honey. Glue. Thai humidity. Money.
=things that get us into sticky situations.

Here’s the deal.
We’re in sort of a sticky situation.
You see, we still have $3,430 to raise in order to be fully funded.
So far God has provided $27,570 towards the Race.
But we’re not finished yet.
There’s still so much to do.

We started fundraising almost a year ago. We’ve been overwhelming blessed by the ways that God has provided the support we’ve needed to come on this journey. So far we’ve had the honor of serving in three countries: India, Nepal, and Thailand. But our journey isn’t over. We still have 8 countries that need us to share the Gospel with them; 8 countries that God created knowing that we’d be there. But we can’t go at them alone. We need you. We need you because we need the body of Christ. We need you because this isn’t just our journey on the World Race, it’s yours too. You’re a part of this. You have gotten us this far. You, too, are on the World Race, and we want you to continue on in this journey with us.

AIM has designated deadlines for each squad member so that we aren’t slammed against the wall when push comes to shove. Because of your generosity, we have met the October 1st deadline of $22,000 (between the two of us). However, we have yet to meet the final deadline on January 1st, which means that we will need all $31,000 in our account in order to continue on. We are undoubtedly confident that He has called us to the entire duration of the Race. We are confident that He will provide, by whatever means necessary, the entire needed amount for this trip. Jeremy and I are ecstatic to see how He does it, too!!

There’s one more thing: just because we only need $3,430 left in World Race support doesn’t mean it stops there. We came on the Race as a married couple. That rarely happens. As a result, essentially everything costs twice as much. The money we have raised through AIM covers most everything: lodging, meals, transportation, ministry tools, etc. However, it does NOT cover ANY personal expenses. Our biggest personal expense on the Race is our marriage. We still go on date nights. We try, though haven’t been very successful yet, to get away a night or two a month to a hotel (or hostel) so that we can spend quality time together. All of this comes out of our own pocket. We have been abundantly blessed by people who have invested financially to us personally and blessed our marriage tremendously as a result. But we still have 8 months. That’s still a goal of one date night a week (though our record has been 3 a month so far), at least one night away in a (cheap) hotel per month, and other small miscellaneous things. Personal money also includes random various activities that we may or may not participate in that are not covered by our team’s budget. And like we said, because there are two of us, everything is twice as expense for us as it is for other racers.

We know that some of you have invested tens, hundreds, thousands of dollars towards The World Race. To you we say “thank you”….a million times over we say “thank you”. You are a huge part of the reason we are here, and cannot express our gratitude nearly enough. We know that some of you have literally been on your knees praying for us daily. I can tell you that we can feel your prayers, and we continue to covet them as we share Christ’s love with the broken. Prayers are truly what get us through each day. To those of you who are looking for a way to help out, here are two great causes: World Race support and personal support. We need people to come alongside us and see us through the remainder of this journey. God has already done so much through you, and He wants to continue that.
