On July 3rd I fly out of the states to the Dominican Republic. I’ll be traveling about 2000 miles that day which seems incredibly far. Going to my bank which is about a five minute drive from my house seems far. Sometimes I feel like I have a very limited perspective of this world that I live in. Even with my utmost effort, I could never comprehend a fraction of the entirety and intricacies of this complex planet we live on.

Yet watch this video that depicts Earth from a different perspective:

After watching that video, do you feel small? Tiny? Insignificant? Talk about a humbling experience. The video does a great job to show us that we, human beings, are practically nothing. Just specs of dust in the universe. Funny how s different perspectives changes things a little bit.

As great as that video is, it fails to recognize God and how he fits into the picture. For me, that video shows how absolutely huge and vast God is. We are tiny specs on one of the countless planets, circumnavigating one of the countless stars, roaming in one of the countless galaxies in an infinitely large universe. It is impossible for me to understand how small I am compared to how big the universe is. Yet, however small and insignificant I am, God still loves me. He still cares about me. He longs to see me prosper while I am inhabiting this pale blue dot. My desire is to draw ever closer to this infinitely huge and powerful God to learn more about who He is. Life is an incredible experience that should never be taken for granted.
