For the past two days, the squad leaders, Drew and I traveled to Siem Reap to visit with staff from AIM. They were running the 4-month debrief for B Squad. We were pumped to finally meet Tim and Noe who we’ve Skyped and e-mailed with, but finally got to see in person.

First thing I did when I got to the hotel was jumped in the pool. Man it felt good! It was so nice to just relax. There Mike and I met some of the guys from B squad. It’s funny how you just know a world racer when you see one (probably because one of the dudes had a ridiculous beard). There’s always that guy ha.

We all got to talking about our journey so far and shared some stories. One of the guys told me about how they almost got stoned by some monks because they were praying for their temple. Seriously, who gets to say that, ha? I told them about us seeing the princess of Thailand and about having no expectations in Africa. Who are we?

Later we went to their worship/prophecy session. It was great to see another squad worship. It was awesome to be in the presence of the Spirit with other world racers. With that going on, God is of course going to move. He gave me the name Daniel to go pray for. I scanned the room, but no one stood out to me. I was hesitant to move or ask anyone if there was a Daniel on B squad because I didn’t want to be wrong or intrude on their worship time. After some time of pumping myself up and just telling myself that so what if there isn’t a Daniel, just do it! I asked Noe if there was a Daniel in the room, and sure enough he said there were two. I prayed for both of them.

God doesn’t call us to be normal. He calls us to go up to complete strangers and tell them they are loved. He calls us to walk up and down streets praying for the people who live on them.  If anything He calls us to not be worldly, we wants us to be different so people can see us. He calls us to be peculiar people. World racers completely personify that. People know that there’s something different about us. There's something about us that just reeks of joy, love, passion and restoration. That smell isn't just the lack of showering, it's Jesus Christ.

All this to say, we are peculiar people. Just accept it. Embrace it! We are called to be different from the world. Don't be afraid to be wierd, peculiar or the opposite of what is "normal". We're here to glorify the Creator, not to be liked by other people. We are peculiar people.
