Well, as of today my current support total is $1,668.20. So in order for my to achieve my goal of being fully funded by August, I need to raise $13,131.80 in only 6 months. That's at least $2,180 a month! No sweat, with the Lord on my side that's not an issue.
Here's the game plan for the coming months:
- Wait to hear back from the 75 or so support letters I sent out
- Talk to my congregation about the World Race
- Talk to the BCM about the World Race
- Talk to businesses about sponsoring me
- Start taking orders for T-shirts (design still pending)
- Host at least 2 fund raisers with my church
- Ask restuarants to have a discount night for me
I think that'll keep me busy for the next couple of months.
People have really been encouraging about supporting me. I realy, truly hate to ask for money, even from my parents. I've always been the type to pay for things on my own. Support raising has been a real hard lesson on dissolving my pride and letting people help me out. It's also been a lesson in patiences. I have the same routine everyday. I wake up, go online and check to see if I have any more support. I click the My Support tab and I squint one eye, like that's gonna make money appear, and wait for it to load. When there's money, I get excited, but when there isn't, that's a little disheartening. But the lesson here is that as long as I have faith, the money will come in even if it's at the last minute. GOD ALWAYS PROVIDES!
