What happens when you forget to close a bag of chips? They get stale, right? The chips get exposed to the outside air and lose all their crispness. After trying to stomach a few chips, you end up throwing away the whole bag.

We’ve been here in the Philippines for about 40 days. I’ve lived with at least 30 other people for 40 days. I’ve smelled the pollution of Manila for 40 days. I’ve listened to late night karaoke for 40 nights. There are still 5 days left.

I’m not a whiner, I promise. I love the ministries here. I love the people here. I love pouring into the 18 young men at Children’s Garden. I love my 43 other squad mates. I’m so blessed to be here at Kids International Ministries. I’m thankful for a real toilet, running water and three square meals.

But to be honest, I’m dried out, exposed to the air for too long. My crispness is gone. I need a new bag of chips. This one is stale and is ready to be thrown out. I can stomach 5 more chips, but that’s it. It’s time for a change. A change of scenery and people. It’s time for Thailand and MANistry month. It’s time for all of us to get our crispness back. We owe it to those we minister too.

Lord, I ask that You strengthen me up to finish out strong here in the Philippines. I pray that I don’t get comfortable in my staleness. I pray that I am refilled in areas where I am empty. I pray for continues relationships. I ask for Your favor over our projects. Thank You Father for my time here. In Jesus’s name I pray, Amen.
