I think, well I know, that we all come on the World Race looking to leave behind something, a part of ourselves that just doesn’t fit with everything else. A part of ourselves that we hide from others. A part of our past.  We think that we’re just going to get rid of this thing before we get home. Well, that’s our plan at least, but we need to remember we serve a God bigger than us.

We don’t serve a wasteful God. He’s going to use everything in this world in order to bring people closer to Him. That’s exactly what He wants to do with the part of our lives that we hate.

With that being said, think about your testimony. Have you ever told your full testimony? You know what I mean when I say your full testimony. Have you ever thought about who God could reach by you telling a tough part of your life? Imagine if you were the one who brought someone to Christ through your testimony, then you became a part of their testimony! Zoinks! How legit would that be?!

So after God revealed some of that to me, He told me that I needed to tell my full testimony to more people. He told me that in order for me to overcome that part of my life and move on I would have to leave my story in the nations. What I processed that to mean was that the more I tell it, the less of a hold it will have on me.

It’s got to be ripped from me. It’s going to be hard. But each time we give our testimony, we strip that part of ourselves away. Think of it like a chick trying to hatch. At first it’s trapped inside this egg. After a while, it begins to use its beak to slowly break away the shell. Crack, crack, crack, and then the shell is finally broken. The chick can walk free from its hold. This is exactly what happens when we tell our story. We chip away at the shell, the shell that traps us from really moving around freely. WE got to get rid of that shell that holds us in.

WE need to break free!

But we need to be aware that we can’t put God on a timeline. We can’t say, “God you have 11 months to make this go away, kthanksbye!” For a large part of my life, I put God on a timeline. When the time came and nothing changed I was only more frustrated. WE got to understand that God works on his on clock. WE got to understand that God has a plan that we can’t see. Once we grasp that, we can start to see how God is using everything in our lives to help other people reach Him.

So tell your story.
