Dear Friends and Family,
I am writing this letter to let you know about some recent developments in my life. As many of you know I have been involved in overseas missions to different parts of Africa and have felt lead to serve God in missions. I have known since high school that God has been asking me to serve Him full-time in ministry and last summer I decided to finish school at Michigan Theological Seminary and prayerfully seek where God wants me in His service. My heart is to serve the poor, sick, young, old, orphaned, and hurting of this world…the least of these. God has opened the door for me to serve in missions through a new program called The World Race.
The World Race is through an organization called Adventures in Missions. I will be working with a team and joining ministries in 11 countries around the world. Through The World Race I will grow spiritually and be discipled in hearing and trusting God’s voice. This trip will expose me to God’s workings in the world, and show me all the opportunities to serve Him around the world. My goal will be to serve Him with everything I have and trust that God will use me to make a difference. I’m excited to use the gifts God has given me to serve those in need.
I need your prayers. I am looking for 15 people to commit to pray for me everyday. I need to be covered in prayer and of course I need financial support. I am leaving my job and saying yes to God and trusting Him for the finances. I need to raise $13,800 for the trip plus extra to cover health insurance and other expenses. I am looking for people to partner with me by making a monthly financial commitment. With 8 people giving $100, 8 giving $50, and 8 giving $25 it would cover the cost. You can also make one-time donations. Will you please pray about that, and see what God puts on your heart? You will be my partner out there with me. I can’t do it alone! I need you!
I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, which invites you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures In Missions. You may write “appealed by” and my name in the memo section of the check if you wish. All donations should be mailed to Adventures in Missions, P.O. Box 534470, Atlanta, GA 30353-4470. Including the enclosed card will provide AIM with all necessary information. You can also contribute on the internet for one-time or automatic monthly withdrawals go to toddwatson.theworldrace.org and select “Support Me!” Adventures in Missions is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of Adventures in Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. Gifts may be tax deductible; please consult your tax advisor.
I am so excited about this trip and having you partner with me to fulfill God’s call. I will be changed, and I believe you will be changed. God will honor your commitment to this ministry. I will be praying for you as I go!
