In Madagascar ministry has been different. We had ministry with a church, so, we expected to teach kids or that we would be discipling people in the church, but when we arrived they told us that they don’t have things for us to do. We decided to go around the town and just pray for the people.

We have been praying for healings and for God to move among these people. We probably prayed over at least a dozen people that first day of ministry. Multiple people stopped us and asked us what we were doing, so we told them. We told them that we have come from all walks of life to live for God and He brought us to this country for these people. We said that we were just going around and praying for people. And so they asked us to pray for them and we did. Many people invited us into their homes to pray for their families and once again, we prayed.

The next day we walk around the town. The streets, which were the day before full of people, were almost empty. We were confused. Where did everyone go? What had happened? The next day we went out it was also very empty. So we devoted that day praying and worshipping God because it just felt dark in that village. During lunch at the church we were informed of something that has been going on in that village. It turns out that a good amount of people in that village practice witchcraft. (You might be thinking,” who cares? It’s not real!” But I want to tell you that they have close ties with the enemy.) And these witch doctors have heard what we were doing and went to a home of one of the ladies that invited us into her home to pray for her and told her that we are evil. That we want no good for them and that we aren’t from God, which is weird to say when you practice witchcraft. They started telling people to not go outside and talk with us. Saying that we are the enemy of them. So they listened. They stayed in a couple of days.

The day after our day of worship and prayer as a team, we decided to go out again. The streets were once again flowing with people. Our day of worship and prayer shook and scared the enemy. We are back it. And we have seen God moving through these people and it is beautiful.

When Monday comes around I will be excited to head back out there and continue doing what we have been doing: bringing hope to a very dark and hopeless place.

Jesus promised that we, as His children, will be persecuted. This gives me hope. We know that what we are doing is frustrating the enemy, so much that he is spreading lies about us, but our God is bigger than anything the devil can throw at us. It is for His name’s sake that we are being slandered and hated. I thank God for every moment of it. All glory to my God and King.
