Meet Jordan and Lindsay Guy:

They are a missionary family originally from North Carolina, but who have been called to Santa Catalina, Panama, which is becoming a popular surfing town, where they have lived for 4 years now. They have two boys: Kaden-2 years and Maverick-6 months.

Their mission is to spread the gospel to the children and teens of this town in hopes of them rising up as the new generation to transform and bring hope to their community. Currently, the town of Santa Catalina is struggling faith-wise. There is one church which needs a lot of help, but the people of the community are not willing to do anything about it. “It is very discouraging,” says Jordan, the husband of the Guy family. That is why their aim is to reach the younger generation, so that this will not continue, but that the love of Jesus will transform them and spur them to ignite their community and their people.

I have hope for this community though. God is starting something here, and what He begins; He finishes.

And you know how I know; it’s because of this story about the Santa Catalina church, the only church in Santa Catalina. The pastor’s wife of the church had a dream that God sent two men to help reconstruct their church, and God showed her the finished product in her dream. It wasn’t too long after, that God brought them into her life. A man named Dan from the States came down to Santa Catalina and met with the pastor. He said that God wanted him to help with the construction of this church, and that he even had the plans with him of how it was going to look. The plans were the exact church that the pastor’s wife had seen in her dream. They began work, and the other guy in her dream came later to help out as well. It has now been ten years, and they are still in the process of restoring it, but it has come a long way. Thanks to the teams that Dan sends down to Jordan and Lindsay to help out with the construction as well as their other outreaches. A beautiful story of God and His perfect will. The community may not be keen on helping, so God sends other workers to get His will done. This town is in a process of revival, and I believe there is definitely hope for it        .

Jordan and Lindsay are a part of the hope, transformation, and revival occurring in this town. Lindsay is always baking for the locals here, and for the outreaches that they put on, supporting her husband, Jordan. Jordan has become fluent in his Spanish, which has helped him communicate and spread the message of Jesus. They have a lot of teams that come to help out with the construction of the Santa Catalina church, and they host teen nights, movie nights, beach clean ups, as well as evangelism and outreaches on the beach. Jordan loves to surf, so currently, he is trying to start a Christian Surfer chapter in Santa Catalina, Panama.

They’re ministry is not a part of the church, but they come alongside the church to host outreaches. For example, they attend the church, and host their movie nights and teen nights there, and are helping in the construction of it as well.

If you would like to find out more information about their ministry and get to know them a little better, then Jordan and Lindsay have both a website, https://jordanylindsay.shutterfly.com/, and a facebook page called Salt and Light ministries. It is definitely worth checking out!
