Last month in South Africa I had the opportunity to take part in Unsung Heroes for the Month with my team. What does that mean? It means we spent the month looking for new contacts for future race teams to partner with for a month.
In my time in Durban, South Africa I met many wonderful people seeking to do many things for the kingdom of God. Over the corse of the month almost every other person, church, or organization would ask us if we had heard about “LIV village”. So we set up a date and time to meet up with them.
I want to share with you there are many things about this organization that are wonderful but here is what I really enjoyed about it, not in any specific order.
1. This organization has business, church and government all working together to make something beautiful.
2. Driving up to the Gates of this orphanage I was blown away by how perfect it was planned out. A sort of heaven on Earth for the orphans and at risk children in South Africa.
3. They train up women from the community to be the moms of the orphans on the property. They help to give the “moms” a great foundation.
4. They are a self sustaining community, growing their own gardens.
5. There is a full school running school on property.
6. There is a full church on property.
7. While visiting the property, we Got to see how much love each staff member had that worked at the schools. And we also Got to visit the baby houses and see the joy on the faces of the moms there, taking care of there children.
There are many other things about this organization that are really exciting, check out there website liv-village.com and see what new is going on with them.
It was an amazing opportunity to see how God working in and through this community.
Maybe one day soon you will see World race teams working hand and hand in this village.
