Our team has spent the last week painting an administration building at the South African School of Theology in Rustenburg. Its been frustrating at times but overall its been a good experience. Ryan and I are staying behind to finish painting, while the rest of the team has returned to stay at the Lighthouse Childrens Shelter to help out with the kids and also our missionary contact here, David Betzer. His wife is recovering from surgery, so hopefully the girls can help out around the house and with the his two children.

Ryan and I spent last night with our friend Gibson and his family and today we caught a Kombi to head to the mall with Gibson and his son Benjamin. I’m not really sure what Gibson role is officially at the school, but he helps take care of alot of stuff and his family of 6 lives on the campus. Its been really cool to get to know him and to learn about Africa from him. He lived in the States for awhile and hope to return as soon as possible because his daughter Tyra is deaf and mute and he hopes to get her better medical help. He and his wife also have scholarships for the Masters program at Cathedral Bible College in Myrtle Beach, SC. So they are just kind of waiting on God’s timing and provision to get them to the States.

Anyway so Ryan and I will be finishing up the painting in the next day or two and then we will hopefully be helping building a Monkey proof vegetable garden for some other missionaries that help feed orphans in the community of Phokeng.

Annie, Josh and I got to go help out a YWAM missionary give out some clothes to a group of orphans in Phokeng. I mostly played with the kids and took photos, I hope we will be able to spend more time with some of these kids before we leave.
