Travel Day: Malaysia
11/30/12
11.30pm: In true AIM fashion, we didn't finish squad time until around 10:45pm.
11:35pm: Packed and prepared for travel to Malaysia
12/1/12
1:30am: finally finished preparations for travel and went to sleep
4:00am: alarm goes off
4:00-4:25am: continually hit snooze on the alarm clock praying it was just a bad dream that we really had to wake up.
4:25am: final preparations to leave.
4:45am: ate breakfast
5:10am: packed into mini-buses
5:25am: left house headed to the Phuket bus station
6:00am: arrived at Phuket bus station
7:15am: loaded bus
7:45am: departed Phuket
3:00pm: arrived at Haydai, Thailand bus station…aka…the side of the road.
6:00pm: scheduled time of departure, but no bus
7:10pm: bus finally arrives
7:25 pm: bus pulls out of station (side of the road)
9:45pm: arrived at Thailand border
10:00pm: finished Thailand customs
10:10pm: Timothy forgot about Malaysian customs and took a Tylenol PM
10:15pm: arrived at the Malaysian border
10:16 pm: told to take all of our possessions off the bus for inspection.
10:30 pm: go through Malaysian customs with included biometric fingerprint scan and x-ray bag search.
10:31pm: Tylenol PM starting to work and Timothy wondered if he was going to make it through customs or just fall asleep on the x-ray conveyor belt.
10:45 pm: cleared customs and back on the road.
10:46pm: Timothy snoozing away!
12/2/12
Time change…forward one hour
5:30am: arrived at Kuala Lumpur bus station
5:40am: went inside bus station.
6:00am: told we were at the wrong bus station
6:15am: loaded bus to another bus station across town
6:30am: arrived at next bus station
6:45am: tickets purchased to Gua Masang, Malaysia for 9:00am
8:45am: logistics realizes we booked the wrong bus and the right bus does not leave from this bus station.
9:10am: load train in route to yet another bus station.
9:30am: get off to transfer trains
9:32am: lost in the train station
9:55am: still lost…didn't we just pass that security booth 5 minutes ago?
10:10am: get to the right platform and load train
10:25am: get off train and realize we have about a quarter mile hike with our packs to get to the right bus station.
10:40am: arrived at the bus station.
3:00 pm: loaded bus and departed for Gua Masang.
8:45pm: Arrived at Gua Masang bus station
9:10pm: Picked up by our contacts.
9:20pm: Ate at a authentic Chinese restaurant.
10:30pm: Arrived at Chua Rubber Plantation where we will base our ministry for the month.
