“I want to tell you about someone that has changed my life. His name is Jesus. Have you ever heard of Him?” This is the question I usually ask at some point when we are evangelising in villages.

Many times, the answer I receive is “No.” At first, this took me by suprise, but now I have come to realize that “No” is a more common answer than I ever imagined.

I have seen first hand that there are many people in this world that do not know Jesus. There are people that have never even heard His name. There are people that have no clue how their life could change by knowing Jesus because no one has told them about Him. There are people that have zero hope in their life because they don't know about a Savior that took the weight of the world on his shoulders for their salvation. They feel alone, abandoned and forgotten.

Matthew 28:19-20 says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Jesus took our place on the cross so that we could take His on the earth. We are the hands and feet of Jesus. It's our job to go into all the world and preach the gospel or people will remain hopeless. Of course everyone's “go into all the world” looks different. God doesn't call everyone to Africa or somewhere else around the world. He may be telling you to speak to people in your neighborhood and workplace or even someone in your own family.

One of our translators from Cambodia said something that has really stuck in my head. When we left our friend Don's village after a full day of evangelising he had a huge smile on his face. I told him he looked so happy. His reply was “any day you get to tell people about Jesus is a good day.” What if we all lived our life this way?

There is a song by Leeland and some of the words include, “Use my hands and use my feet to make your kingdom come.” What if we all completely surrendered to God and told Him to use us to make His kingdom come? What if we started worrying more about people knowing Jesus than our church buildings? What if we actually went out and acted on what we learned from the bible? I truly believe if we all started living Great Commission minded this world would be a different place. I say this not on my soap box, but because I have seen the lost that are desperate for a savior. If we don't go to them…who will?
